Pinewood has proudly been serving customers since 1941.
All these years we have welcomed visitors from Canada
and around the world, whether they are simply travelling
across Canada or driving to the lake cottage each weekend
to enjoy the beauty of Lake of the Woods. World class
fishing for musky and walleye put the tourist area on
the map many years ago. Today, the area boasts great
activities for anyone needing to de-stress. Lake of
the Woods has endless nature filled with lakes, islands
and wildlife. Families fill the cottages and campgrounds
all summer long and many have become life time customers
and friends.
Everyone needs a place to escape to. Pinewood has created
an ambiance that reflects a vintage cottage retreat
where you can relax in log cabin comfort. You’ll
have a great experience with our friendly staff whether
you are enjoying a cup of coffee in our restaurant (we
still offer no charge refills), having a meal on the
patio, or perhaps shopping in the gift shop even shopping
online. We have taken pride in customer satisfaction
offering quality food and gift items. If you are looking
for a baby gift, cottage decor, wall art or even handmade
log furniture, you’ll be impressed with our selection.
Location: Right on the Trans Canada highway
and backing onto a lake, just a few kilometres inside
the Manitoba/Ontario where Western Canada meets Eastern
Canada, where you enter the beautiful resort area of
Lake of the Woods.
The Season: The lodge is open seven days a week
the first of May through to the weekend after the October
Thanksgiving day weekend. Year round online shopping
and cabin bookings are available on the website.
The Owners: Pam and Ken Willms first worked
as teenagers at Pinewood during the 70’s. Their
love of the lake inspired them to one day be able to
own and operate Pinewood. With the support of their
young children they become owners in 1992.
Employee Focus: Ken and Pam spent many years
volunteering with young children teaching them to ski
in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta. Today they continue
to work with young adults, taking pride in the great
adults they become.
